Top Date Idea for the Slow Day
Not doing much and bored? Got a lady someplace doing the same? Here is a great date idea for those slow days.
The Concept
You will be creating a game with mystery and excitement for your woman. You will be surprising her with shopping and gifts. The two things women like most.
- You’ll need a little creativity and a car.
- It will cost you less than $20 and about 3 hours of your time.
Our Two Step Process
Because men don’t need more steps.
Step 1
Start with a Light & Fun game Ask her if she trusts you (maybe a risky question). Once she says yes, let her know you have an idea for the afternoon, but her input depends on the outcome of the ideas. This riddle will be very enticing – a great quality for a man. Ask her to guess three numbers, 1-10. That will be the amount you each will have to spend. For example, let’s say she guessed 8 – 5 – 9; then you will each have $8.59 to spend for Step 2. Do not explain why you are having her guess the numbers or the reason you are handing her money. Allow her to wonder and be excited. This will help you look confident – a manly quality. (Hint: Have some money laying around or be prepared to round up.)
Step 2
Go to a local store, like Target or Walmart. Once you are there, give her instructions like these:
You have 1 hour to buy anything totaling up to $8.59 (the random numbers she chose earlier). The winner will be determined based on how close one came to the total without going over.
The goal of the game is to buy each other gifts that are better than the gifts you will be receiving. While you are going to the store apart from each other…do little things like “accidentally” be in the same aisle. And get caught “trying” to peak at what she has in her basket. This will add a great element of fun to the game, and help her warm up to this suspenseful mystery she is entangled in. (Hint: Have your phone calculator ready and don’t forget about sales tax.)
Here Is What We Did
Boys become Men following examples like this.
My woman purchased a knife, waterproof matches, and a couple other items. I purchased a white board, colored pencils, two matchbox cars, and some toothpick umbrellas. She had no idea why I surprised her with these strange items until I explained that part of the gift was putting it all together. It took all afternoon to sketch and draw a street racing course for us to race our matchbox cars on. After we completed the board, I filmed some action with my iPhone and edited it together with an iMovie trailer (of course). That is what a man does. Go out there and be a man and come up with an idea that will shame all the other boys out there.
